Executive Protection

What is Executive Protection?

Executive protection (EP) is the task of keeping key personnel safe from intentional and unintentional harm—is a widespread, recognized specialty in the security field. Its purpose is to safe-guard people who face an above-average level of risk or whose security is especially important to an organization.

What is a Bodyguard?

A bodyguard is someone hired to protect someone. Generally this person comes from the principles inner circle and lacks true training. The person from the inner circle however, has attributes that principle deems worthy to keep them safe. To this principle it doesn’t matter if they actually have the skill-sets necessary to keep them safe.

Here is the problem with those who have no training, it takes “just two seconds” to break bad. That means in as little as two seconds an individual who is looking to harm your principle only needs two seconds to do damage.  It is imperative that if you are tasked with protecting  someone’s life you seek out the proper training to identify threats before they are able to break bad.

The personal protection and investigation business represent one of the oldest professions in civilization. Even uncivilized societies required the services of highly dedicated men and women who would devote their lives to serve and protect others. In earlier times, these professions were accorded the highest rank and status… in Europe, they were called Knights, in Japan, Samurai. In modern times, the need for personal and corporate protection remains high and those who respond to the calling are but a select few. Those who are willing to accept the risks and the rewards of the protection and investigation profession require the same dedication and specialized training as the old profession, but there are few sources of the knowledge. With a view towards molding standards of excellence in the ancient way and in accordance to the demands of modern society, ESI developed training programs which would give a new definition to the protection and investigation field.

Here at ESI, I am constantly asked, do I have to be prior military or police officer in order to work in this industry. NO, you don’t! To be successful you need to be dedicated to this lifestyle. Not everyone can be a close protection officer, but those who do become one, know that this is their duty in life.
